Varnett to offer Accelerated Bridge Program for qualifying students

The Varnett Public School in 2016-17 will offer an individualized instruction program designed to address the educational needs of kindergarten through fifth-grade students performing at least one above grade level.

The Accelerated Bridge Program (ABP) provides both accelerated instruction and mentoring to bridge gaps in weaker subjects.  Varnett's charter school students will be identified based on teacher recommendations and performance on Stanford 10 and The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) program.

ABP teachers will use a differentiated curriculum that ensures the individual academic needs of each student are met and that the student's skills and potential are optimized. Students who are selected will have an opportunity to advance at least one grade level based on their academic performance, standardized test scores and results from grade placement examination.

The first day of school for students is August 22, 2016. See you soon!
