Post-Harvey learning starts today at Varnett

Teachers and staff welcomed back students for the second time in a month today, with Varnett's reopening signaling a "Road to Recovery" in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

They wasted no time putting the students to work as Southwest and Northeast campuses were abuzz with activity.

East Campus students, whose school was the hardest hit by the hurricane, were introduced to their temporary home at Northeast as East undergoes repairs.

Throughout the district, school walls were decorated with posters, art, brightness, rules and messages in areas that withstood the storm.

Once again, we welcome back our students in what promises to be an exciting and productive school year.

Please refer to the district and campus calendars on this website for updates or changes in scheduling.
