Dear Varnett Northeast Campus Families,
The past few weeks have been such an incredibly difficult time for our community and for other cities on our coastline. Whether you were evacuated, sheltered in place or helped loved ones in need, all of us were greatly affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Getting back to a routine for children can often be the best approach to a crisis. With that, we will also allow time for reflection for our boys and girls. I’m aware that some of our families are staying with others at this time or have extra guests in need. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if we can be of help. We are one family and the generosity of this community is overwhelming.
We know that there are families who are displaced from their home at this time and your child may not have his or her school uniform. We will resume wearing our school uniforms in January 2018.
The damage to the East Campus was more devastating than in the other locations and is currently being renovated. The East Campus will share space with Northeast and will use our site until the district finds another suitable one or the repair of the East Campus is completed. Thank you for your patience as we continue to rebuild after the storm.
We still have a great deal of recovering to do, but our community has shown remarkable resilience and support for those most affected. As we move forward please mark your calendars for these upcoming events:
Ms. Toni Fisher, M.Ed.
