Updated Information: Instructional Continuity Plan - Learning Apart Together/ Plan de continuidad educativa: aprender juntos

The Varnett Public Schools uses a distance learning instructional model made up of two components, Digital Learning and Analog Learning.

Analog Learning (limited access)
- Hard copy print packets are mailed to PreK – 2nd grade and 3rd-8th grade students without technology access
- Teachers make group or individual calls to students to check in on work
- Students complete assignments and text a picture of work to the teacher, or scan and email work if possible. Students should keep all work and include their names and the date completed on each page.
- Packets are mailed out each Friday for the following week and should be returned at the end of each week.
Digital Learning (preferred access)
- Instructional delivery takes place through Google Classroom and Google Meets
- Students log in virtually at a given time to participate in the lesson in live time
- Student complete assignments electronically (in Google classroom)
- Teachers monitor work through Google or other district approved platforms
  
  Digital Instructional Delivery:
1. GoogleMasterClass
  - Each grade level (districtwide) has one 30-minute Master Class for a specific content area (Math, science, etc.).
  - During this time slot, students are expected to login to the Google Class and review the assignments and write down questions for the teacher or things they do not understand.
  - If there is additional time left, students should begin completing any assignments they do not need help with.
2. GoogleMeetsLive!
  - For grades Kinder through 8, immediately after the Google Master Class, each class has one 30- minute Google Meets Live! with their teacher of record at their campus. The link to join the Meets Live! is available in the Google Master Class (see navigation guide in Appendix).
  - Pre-K has only Google meets Live! Sessions.
  - During this time slot, students will get live assistance from their campus teacher(s) through the phone or computer.
