Bullying has consequences, HPD tells students

Three Houston Police Department officers recently visited the Northeast campus to promote the department's bully prevention campaign.

They delivered their message to students in grades 3-8, who asked lots of questions about what constitutes bullying and cyberbullying.

"The kids really enjoyed it," said Ms. Yolanda Valadez, the campus parent liaison.

The officers talked about the consequences of bullying and that those who engage in the practice can ultimately end up in jail -- something people don't want on their record.

HPD has a link on its website called Help Us, Help You Prevent Bullying.

Thanks to Ms. Janis White, the district social worker, who asked HPD to talk to our students!
