Students celebrate a "Texas Christmas"; dazzle audience

Texas was the theme of the holiday program at Forest Brook Middle School Thursday night as students gave a rousing performance for parents, family and staff.

Steve Romero and Karime Valdez kicked off the show as Master and Mistress of Ceremony. What followed was a colorful display of singing, dancing and reading that had the crowd smiling, laughing and snapping pictures.

The songs included "If Everyday Could Be Christmas," "Two Step Around the Christmas Tree," "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree," Jingle Bell Rock" "This Christmas" (Texas Style) and the Texas-themed "She'll Be Coming Around the Mountain." The costumes were magnificent and it was clear that the staff and students put in a lot of hard work in preparing for this special night.

Campus Director Yolonda Brown led the staff in "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" before students got on the stage and posed for pictures with Santa Claus.

"It was a very unique show," Ms. Brown said. "The short time the kids had to rehearse, they pulled if off as if they practiced for a long time. I want to thank the staff for their hard work and the parents for taking the time to bring their children to the program."

Melissa Cluff, representing Superintendent M. Annette Cluff, said she witnessed an awesome show and thanked everybody for coming.
