Houston Fire Department inspector Larry Elliott took his puppet show to Northeast Campus to warn children not to play with matches.
He and his friends also offered tips about overall fire prevention as Pre-K and kindergarten students looked on.
He urged the students, who assembled in the multi-purpose room, to pledge that "I promise I will not play with matches" and put his message to music.

"Make sure your mother blows out the candles at night," he said. "Always listen to your mom, never play with matches and always listen to your teachers." Mr. Elliott used the puppets to reinforce his message.
