Book fair "fantastic," says campus director

The Northeast Campus book fair was declared a success as students scooped up books and other items Oct 15-19.

The most popular items sold were Barbie Pop Star books, Power Ranger books for the lower grades and and Secret Code Ultraviolet pens. “Those are the items that sold out the first day and we had to call in to get a restock,” said Gloria Simpson, the campus librarian.

Each year Scholastic Book Fairs, in partnership with schools across the country, hosts more than 120,000 book sale events that give more than 35 million students access to thousands of affordable and educational products. Pencils, erasers, posters, bookmarks and other school related items are included in the package.

The fairs have turned into effective fund-raisers to supplement student learning and the books were very popular this year. “It was a fantastic sale,” said Dora Morrow, the campus director.
