Students turn out in costume for Character Day

With the weather uncertain throughout the day, Northeast Campus students still were able to show off their costumes on Character Day, Oct. 31.

Rain hit the Houston area hard before clearing up in the evening for would-be trick-or-treaters. But Varnett students were ensured of having a day of costume fun indoors. Character Day is about choosing costumes and coordinating with their friends in themed outfits. The variety of characters is endless and the only limitation to creating a costume is imagination.

“We provide a safe environment for them to display their costumes and creativity,” said Northeast Campus Director Twilet Alexander. She said about 75 percent of the students came dressed up. Similar Character Day activities occurred at the Southwest and East campuses, with staff joining the fun.

Thanks to all who participated.
