Parents visit teachers, classrooms during Open House

On Tuesday, September 16, 2014, parents, faculty, and staff of the Northeast Campus participated in our Fall Open House and Family Night. This evening marked the first meeting of our newly-formed Parent Teacher Organization. Our appointed president rolled out current goals of the organization which included assisting with our Annual Fall Carnival on October 25th and a Halloween fundraiser. Ms. Peralta, PTO president, signed up more than 50 parents and collected the $5 membership dues from 25 families.

Parents had an opportunity to visit with their children’s classroom teacher and sign up for upcoming parent-teacher conferences in October. It was a great turnout despite the heavy rain that preceded the event. We had more than 150 people sign in and those who attended had an opportunity to win great door prizes and enjoy a light snack provided by our food service staff.

Next Tuesday, September 23rd at 6 p.m., we will have our 3rd-5th grade intervention workshop.  This workshop is designed to assist parents in navigating through our campus-based intervention program. The Academic Success A+ Plan (ASAP) intervention program will provide targeted assistance to students with academic deficits. At the workshop parents will receive a copy of their children’s individual learning plan. Parents will be advised which intervention is needed for their students and given strategies to work with their children at home.

Thanks again for your participation.

Ms. Fisher
Campus Director
