The Houston Public Library brought its mobile computer lab to the Northeast Campus Monday, and nearly 60 fourth-graders made the most of it.
The students entered the decked-out lab and researched fun topics by utilizing Encarta. Encarta is a digital encyclopedia installed on the Mobile Express Unit and at Children’s Literacy stations at all Houston Public Library locations.
Popular research targets included pertinent facts about countries accompanied by pictures and videos. The one-hour research exercise also allowed the students to do some work outside the classroom.
The library’s Community Engagement Team offers the community a variety of free services as well as use of the library’s Mobile Express unit.
