Happy Northeast pre-k students donned caps and gowns today, marking the end of the first chapter in their long educational journey to success.
Fifty students earned trophies and diplomas as proud parents and relatives looked on during the promotion ceremony at East Campus. Next stop: kindergarten.
Dr. Margaret Stroud, superintendent of The Varnett Public School; Ms. Toni Fisher, the Northeast Campus director, and some members of the Northeast staff also were in attendance.
Dr. Stroud said the expansion and the renovation of the campus are ongoing and acknowledged parents for their patience during a challenging 2016-17 school year. Expect a smoother ride next year, she said.
Some parents were also recognized for their participation throughout the school year.
