The Varnett School Northeast hosted its first middle school dance on October 31, 2018. The dance was a literacy incentive for our middle school scholars.
Students were assigned a book on Oct. 1 and required to submit a book report on October 26. Those who wrote and turned in a book report were allowed to attend the dance.
The goals of The Northeast Literacy Action Plan are to have middle school students read one book each month. The November reading books will be assigned on Nov. 5 and book reports will be due Dec. 7 Students who read and submit the book report will be eligible to attend the holiday dance on Dec. 20.
