The carnival comes back after a two-year absence

The fall carnival made its return to The Varnett School Northeast on Saturday, Nov. 3.

Northeast had not held the annual event for the past two years. Last year, the destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey prevented the school from hosting the event. The year before, major construction on the school parking lot forced the campus to scrap the festivities.

This year's event was a huge success. Everybody had a great time and enjoyed the perfect weather.  The turnout was lower than in previous years, but the committee was excited for those who did turn out.

The Varnett Northeast dance team performed its Michael Jackson "Thriller" routine and the teachers and staff provided games and handed out prizes.

The carnival has been organized annually by the Fall Carnival planning committee.  The event provided families an opportunity to play games, win prizes and enjoy the family-friendly atmosphere. The committee is super grateful for all of the support provided during the planning stages and, of course, on the day of the carnival.
