Welcome back to the 2013-2014 school year
I hope you had a pleasant summer and had some time for rest and relaxation. I am looking forward to a great school year. We would like to welcome back our returning students, and we all welcome our newcomers to the Varnett Northeast family and hope that you feel at home here. We have many support systems in place here to help you find your way around and I hope you will avail yourselves of the support if you need it. We are here to assist you in any way so please do not hesitate to ask for assistance.
We are proud of our staff and students and invite you to get to know our school. I encourage you to become involved in volunteering or visiting our school when you can. It is my sincere hope that all of us, parents/guardians, teachers, and staff will work together to foster in our students an enthusiasm for learning and an appreciation for a quality education they will receive at The Varnett School. As co-instructors of your children, our faculty and I appreciate and depend on your assistance and cooperation with us in nurturing all aspects of their development. None of us can do it alone. It takes teamwork.
I extend heartfelt gratitude to our teachers who spent many hours decorating and organizing classrooms before school opens and to our office staff who have done many behind-the-scenes organizational tasks. I also want to thank our maintenance and cleaning staff for all their hard work preparing the building for a new year.
I strongly encourage all parents to take the time to visit our school’s website at varnett.org. It contains valuable information regarding our school’s policies and procedures, accountability rating and weekly stories about what’s taking place at the school. There is also a calendar of events updated monthly and the school’s newsletter is posted to the website as well.
Building Expansion Update
Work has begun on the expansion of the new building. We will keep you updated on the progress and ask for your patience as we make changes to our procedures to accommodate the expansion. The end results will be worth waiting for. Thanks for your patience.
