It's hard to believe how soon this school year will be winding down to the end. We have so much still to do. Every spring, schools have the opportunity to participate in state end-of-year assessments and celebrate with students their academic accomplishments. This year all students in grades three through five will take the STAAR assessments. Students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade will take the Stanford-10 assessment. It is very important that students are at school every day, on time and remain in school the entire day. We are asking for your cooperation in not planning vacations or appointments that would cause your child to miss school. We also encourage your help in seeing that your child receives plenty of rest and a nutritious breakfast each day.
These scores are very important for student placement for next year and also reflect school progress and accomplishments. As a school, we will encourage students to do their best. We have high expectations for each student. We also ask that you encourage your children to do their best work and set high expectations for them.
It is important for children to know that their parents and teachers are counting on them to try their best. Thank you for your support in encouraging your child. We know we have fantastic students and this is our chance to show everyone how fantastic the Northeast Mustangs really are.
We are also getting ready for our school-wide science fair, annual district-wide Field Day, pre-Kindergarten and 5th grade graduation celebrations, and the end-of-the year field trips. More information will go home soon regarding these events. So be on the lookout the first week in April for our end-of-the- year updates.
